"کہانیاں گم ہوجاتی ہیں" تنقیدی مطالعہ “KAHANIYAN GUM HO JATI HEN” A CRITICAL STUDY Section Urdu Literature

Abstract

Dr. Fatima Hassan is a famous and well-known writer. She has equal skills in poetry and prose. She achieved a prominent position in criticism, fiction, and literary column writings. The theses of M.A, MPHIL and PhD level have been written in her literary works in various universities. In recognition of her literary services, she has been awarded the medal of Imtiaz by the Government of Pakistan. “Kahanian Gum Ho jati Hen” is the collection of her short stories which was first published in June,2000. Stories in this collection have not the ordinary style or technique. They have not a logical beginning or end. Some stories consist of one or half pages. However, the depth and angle of thought is the dominant elements of these stories. Specially these stories can be seen in movement of feminism and modern fiction writings in Pakistani literature. Fatima Hassan is the spokesperson for the equal right of women in the society and this is the distinguishing feature of her writings.  This article is a critical study of her fictional collection “khaniyan Gum Ho Jati Hen” in which the intellectual and artistic aspects of these short stories have been discussed.
