Abstract

               The creation of the world consists of life. If there was no life, there would be no concept of the world. It is the law of Allah that He gives life to creatures, but man knows that the concept of eternal life is just ignorance. The giant of death waits every moment of life and when the period of human physical life ends, death swallows’ life. Everyone is convinced of death, but no human being is aware of its metaphysical reality.

                    The concepts of death and annihilation are found in the literature of every language of the world. Especially, the theme of annihilation is very prominent among Urdu ghazal poets. In this article, a research review of the elements of annihilation in Urdu poets has been presented.
