Abstract
Iqbal's claim denies no fact that his poetry is sparkled with the colours taken from the rainbow of Arabian literature. His poetic diction owes much to the allusions, stylistics and devices that enrich Arabic literature and lend it distinguished status in world literature. The mention of great Arabic poets like Ibn badron, Abu al-Ala al Marri, Zuhayr bin Abi Sulma, Ka’b ibn Zuhayr, Imru’al-Qais in Iqbal's poetry both in Urdu and Persian conforms to the stance that Eastern literature leaves glaring marks on his poetry.
