Abstract

The historian and poet Muhammad Ghaus s/o Muhammad Faiq Qutb Shahi Pishawari belonged to the era of Ahmad Shah Abdali and was one of his countriers. He was also a teacher and trainer of Prince Taimoor Two of lus works discovered are "Diwan" (Collection of poetry) and "Riaz-ul-Maluk" "Riaz-ul- Maluk" is comprised of a preamble, two elegies/ accounts and a conclusion. In the preamble, the writer shares purpose of writing the book, in which he says that he wrote the book on the demand of attorneys of the court, who told him to pen down accounts of the life of kings and chiefs and offer them some words of counsel and then present the book to the king, so that he might use the book for his benefit during his leisure times. In the first eleg/account, the writer mentions life of kings. And in the second elegy/ account, he mentions life of other people than kings
