A Study of Philosophical Elements among the Representative Poets of Modern Urdu Ghazal

Abstract

The ancient tradition of Urdu ghazal is tolerant of the inclination of value towards coercion, but the 
modern Urdu ghazal has clarified its trend of value and authority. The attitude of is a natural 
consequence of the growing consciousness of human greatness. In Urdu ghazal, where tragic 
expressions have prevailed, in modern ghazal, there is also a demand for tarbiya expression, Nishatiya 
Ahang. Ghazal has been connecting with the past and the present in terms of its experience and all these 
things must be present in the consciousness under modern Ghazal. The meaning of jinn, rapture, 
madness, absorption and sukran all give priority to the ghazal. 
Rather than jinns, instead of intellect and rapture, self-awareness is indispensable. From the beginning, 
Urdu ghazal is tolerant of identifying a human being as a human being. States came into being, the 
country was divided in the form of population death, many unpleasant incidents also took place during 
the 1971 war, the secession of East Pakistan, and the lack of trust against the government and those in 
power. Modern Ghazal has not been freed from most of the cultural, moral and social values which Urdu 
Ghazal has been rich with in the past.
