Abstract

Malik Hasan Akhtar gained fame in Urdu literature as a critic, researcher, historian, dramatist, expert in Iqbal studies and educationist. He served knowledge and literature for more than thirty years and authored and compiled more than 20 books. Apart from these permanent works, he penned a large number of articles, columns, and papers on various topics. "Tareekh Urdu Adab" is a well-known work of his with a page count of 1212 and consists of 34 chapters. The researchers has presented a critical and analytical study of his work. Based on our analytical study, we hve tried to prove that this work of Malik Hasan Akhtar holds an important place in Urdu literature and is a valuable addition to it.
