Abstract

Among the important trends of the 20th century, modernity has a special importance. This trend of modernity has also been quite controversial. After the decline of the progressive movement, a form of modernity universal movement emerged in Urdu. It was a collective revolt against exploitation. In which access from externality to internality, from noise to silence, from the crowd to solitude. In view of "Jadeediyat aour Urdu Afsana" authored by Dr. Aslam Jamshed Puri, in which the author wrote in the 20th century. The origin of this important trend of the century, the myths created under it, and the analyzes of selected myths representing some of the negative attitudes of this trend have been presented. To clarify his point of view, the author has also recorded arguments. At the end of the book, a discussion on the topic of Urdu fiction and modernity is also included.
