Abstract
This research review examines the divergent perspectives of Mu'tazila and Khawarij on the interpretation of Hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The Mu'tazila school emphasizes reason and context in Hadith interpretation, while the Khawarij approach is characterized by literalism and a focus on the text's apparent meaning. The review analyzes the historical development of these approaches, their methodological differences, and the implications for Islamic theology and practice. By exploring the contrasting views of these two influential schools, this review aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of the complex and multifaceted nature of Hadith interpretation in Islamic thought.
