Abstract

Resistance is very necessary for every society to restrain injustice, cruelty and oppression. Resistant Poetry directly engages with social, political, or cultural issues, often advocating for change or challenging the status quo. It’s an effective tool for giving voice to marginalized and oppressed people within the society. Resistant poetry also serves the purpose of preserving cultural memory, fosters empathy and inspires activism for movement of justice. As a result, more inclusive and equitable society is created. Zahoor Nazar is one of the prominent resistant poets of Urdu Literature who fought with their poetry for the oppressed, unprivileged and marginalized class of not only his society but also raised voice for the rights of other nations of the world. So Zahoor Nazar can be called as international resistant poet. Here is an appraisal of Zahoor Nazar’s poetry as international voice of resistance against injustice, oppression and inequality.
