Abstract

     Hameed Akhtar is known as a fiction writer, journalist, translator and column writer in Urdu literatrure. He worked all his life for the propagation of progressive thoughts and ideas and remain attached to the progressive writers. Progressive thinking is a dominant factor in his fiction. The purpose of this article is to explore the objective influence of Progressive writers association on his fiction. He also has broadened and perfected the tradition of realism through his powerful fiction writing. He has observed and portrayed the helplessness, uncertainty, inequality, individual crushed in a class based society, cruelty, injustice, opperssion, isolation of an individual, contradiction of his mental and psychological condition and agony of that individual quite realistically in his fiction
