Abstract

From the early period of Islam to this day, thousands of scholars and interpreters have written the Tafasir for the exposition of the holy Quran. "Mafatih ul Ghaib" also known as "Tafsir Kabir" is one of them which is written by Muhammad Bin Umar Al Razi, the leader of interpreters. In the style of expressing and the good arrangement, this Tafsir is a distinct to his contemporary and subsequent written Tafasir. In this Tafsir, islamic Beliefs and commandments are explained with narrative as well as logical arguments. This holds the position of being an origin and source for all the Tafasir written afterwards. Hardly, there would be a book written on the pattern of Ahlus Sunnah and still not referred to Tafsir Kabir.


Every interpreter has his own methodology and for learning in its true spirit, it requires comprehending his methodology. Keeping the importance of "Tafsir Kabir" in view, A research review of Imam Razi’s methodology in Tafsir have been presented in the following article.
