Abstract

This article is about Persian verses used in commentary of Makatbat-e-Allami by Abul Faiz Malahat, Malahat is a famous literary figure in the Subcontinent of 13th century. He was a prominent Persian writer, poet, commentator and teacher. Although very little information is available about his biography, but his valuable and noteworthy works that he left behind, He wrote many other commentaries too like Nil-o-Dman, Gill Kushti, Qisah-e-Sodagar-e-Pesri, and Makatbat-e-Allami etc. It's an art to elaborate text and to convey meaning to the readers in easy manner. Perhaps this is a new thing for readers that he was not only writer but was a poet too as he quotes others poetry and sometimes rights his own. So therefore in this Article and endeavor has been made to highlight the beauties of writings of Malahat's prose which is blend of prose and poetry. It can be said that after Mughal era this type of writing is missing.
