Abstract

Muhammad Bakhsh Nauroz (1857-1917) a famous siraiki poet was born in Mubarak pur basti Rukrani,Bahawalpur.His forfathers migrated from India to Pakistan. Nauroz’s father passed away during his childhood.Muhammad Bakhsh Nauroz was a siraiki poet but he beautifully used Arabic,Persian, and Urd words in his poetry. Nauroz spent his most of time with his Murshid Hakeem Peer Qadir Bakhsh Qureshi in Jalal Pur Peer Wala. Nauroz fell in love with a girl but despite his effort ,he could not merry her.He was married to Sharma BiBi in basti Rukrani and they had a son.

 Nauroz did not pay much attention to the world around him and remined lost in his own thoughts.He observed a 40-day sipirtual retreat and was also blessed vision of the Prophet Muhammad SAW in dream. Nauroz also undertook the Haj on foot.

Muhammad Bakhsh spend his time with Khwaja Ghulam Farid and recite his poetry.Khwaja Ghulam Farid gave the title of Nauroz to Muhammad Bakhsh for recieting nine Dohra during ablution.Which he adopted as a pseudonym in poetry and became known as Muhammad Bakhsh Nauroz.

Muhammad Bakhsh Nauroz was not interested in worldly affairs, his thoughts had a different world.He whould often go out to Rohi and meditate in search of hidden realities. The Siraiki language has developed in a region where the deepest influence is that of religion.In the beginning the color of Sufism was dominat on the poetry of Nauroz but with the passage of time he moved from reality to metaphor.He shifted from internality to externality.Every poem contains deep thought and experience.Tolarance and respect for every religion is seen in his poetry.

The Siraiki language is rich in poetic literature . Siraiki poetry has an effect on the hearts. Nauroz wrote about every literary genre and every color can be seen in Nauroz’ poetry,For example Hamd,Naat ,Manqabat, Qasida, Masnavi, Qissa, Kafi,and Dohra. Nauroz considered a great poet of Dohra , but whatever he wrote was filled with deep emotions and feelings. Their renowned works include Qissa Kali o Qori, Masnvi Laila Majnu,Majmua Kafiyan Shola e Dilsoz(Part 1 and Part 2) and Dohra jaat Nauroz kilan are include.

In his poetry ,the hills of rohi, the flow of the rivers, the spring,the dance of the birds,a womens’s beauty ,dress, culture ,beauty of nature, art and ornaments are all described.Nauroz’s poetry full of romanticism.His poetry casts a beautiful mood on the reader.This is actually the aesthetics of Nauroz poetry.The imagination of Nauroz’s poetry is full of beauty.

In this Article, we will shed light on the various aspects of their life and the colors of their poetry. Nauroz holds a unique position among Siraiki poets due to his style and beautiful choice of words.His poetry is rich in aesthetics and lays the foundation for a new trend in Siraiki literature.A rhythm can be felt in Muhammad Bakhsh Nauroz’s poetry.There is a quality of music in his speech.He used musical pharases in his poetry.
