Abstract

Every nation has some pride. The poets of that nation repeatedly celebrate this pride in their poetry. Similarly every nation has a poet who is the icon of his nation and called the poet de laureate. He becomes a romance for his successors who celebrate this pride and icon of their nation. Khawaja Ghulam Farid is the pride and icon of Saraiki nation. His art and thoughts are subtle and sublime. He has given Saraiki nation identity and pride and he has become a poet de laureate of Saraiki language.  He is the only Saraiki poet who has been celebrated from his own time to the present time too. His significance and importance has increased day by day. More than a century has passed but the charisma of his personality and art has not diminished. He has also become the pride of the poets of this region and he has emerged as a great romance in the poetry of his successors. The modern Saraiki poems include all the romantic elements that are specific to the romantic poetry of the world. 0ne of the biggest romance of Saraiki poets is Khawaja Ghulam Farid. More than twenty years ago, a collection of poetry has been published and that collection contains the poems dedicated to Khawaja Ghulam Farid. In this research article, a critical review of this devotion and romance expressed by the poets of modern Saraiki poetry will be analyzed by reading the poem in which Khawaja Ghulam Farid and his poetic excellence has been appreciated and celebrated. These facts and reasons will be brought forward due to which Khawaja Ghulam Farid has become a romance for modern Saraiki poets till date.
