Abstract
Qatil Shafai, who was born as Muhammad Aurangzeb in the touristic and spacious place of Haripur, song starts in 1948, when he wrote two songs in the musical romantic film 'Teri Yaad', both of them received public acclaim. One of them was 'Dukkh Ki Maari Rahar Api Bhaag Ko Roi' and another was 'Mohabbate Ka Mara Chala Yaa', after which he wrote one or two songs for most of the films.
Qatil Shafai continued to deliver a bouquet of mesmerizing and memorable songs in the 60s. Be it the record song 'Ae Dil Kisi Ki Yad Mein Hota Hai Be Kare Kyun' in the voice of Saleem Raza and Naseem Begum from the movie 'Ek Tara Sahara' or 'Dil Dita Hai Ro Ro Dekad Kise Se' from the movie 'Ishq Pe Zor Nahin'.
