Abstract
The development of Urdu was shaped by religious and literary figures, as well as by royal patrons, leading to its popularity among all classes. Linguistics, the scientific study of language, transformed traditional approaches by emphasizing a structured analysis of language beyond mere storytelling. Modern linguistics now connects literature more closely to reality, influences fields like psychology, anthropology, and philosophy, and aids in literary criticism. In Urdu, linguistic studies gained academic focus in the 19th century, progressing in recent times with further advancements in analyzing language structure and social applications.
