Abstract

The dissemination of Islam and resolution of modern challenges have always been pivotal concerns for scholars and jurists across eras. Among these luminaries, Abu al-Khayr Muḥammad Nūrullāh Na‘īmī (raḥimahullāh), renowned as "Faqīh al-A‘ẓam" (The Grand Jurist), stands out prominently. He provided exceptional guidance to the Muslim Ummah during a time when many scholars found themselves unable to address emerging issues. His expertise in Sharī‘ah and remarkable abilities in deduction and ijtihād were evident in his monumental work, Fatāwā Nūriyyah. This collection reflects his deep understanding of Islamic jurisprudence, ability to extract rulings from Sharī‘ah texts, and his unique approach to resolving unprecedented challenges with substantiated arguments. At a time marked by intellectual stagnation, he diverged from the rigid conformism of his contemporaries and offered pragmatic solutions to pressing problems, earning widespread admiration. The contemporary relevance of Fatāwā Nūriyyah lies in its methodological brilliance, providing a framework for addressing modern issues through Sharī‘ah. This research article explores the significance of Fatāwā Nūriyyah in today's context and its applicability in resolving contemporary challenges.
