Abstract

There is an important material in TAZKRAS about Urdu Ghazal's Criticism. That's why Tazkra is considered as an initial source of criticism. Although, there is no traditional criticism in Tazraka, but importance of Tazkra cannot be denied. Many poetic terms are used in Tazkras to judge literary and poetic skills. Tazkras are considered as valuable critical material on Urdu Ghazal too. Tazkra as initial source is very helpful for criticism of Ghazal. In this article, importance of Tazkra in criticism of Ghazal is critically discussed.
