Abstract

This article discusses the discussions on moral conduct and behavior from the selected books of sayings of Chishti Sufi saints, may Allah have mercy on them. So that a servant can benefit from them and try to mold his worldly character according to the way of the Prophet Muhammad ( ). A servant’s relationship with Allah is strengthened through worship, and his relationship with other servants is strengthened through good conduct and behavior. The great purpose of the Prophet Muhammad’s ( ) mission was also to fulfill these two things. It was this aspect of conduct that the Prophet’s behavior and way of life were described as “uswa-e-hasanah” (beautiful example). Similarly, among those who benefited from the Prophet’s teachings, the scholars and mystics, may Allah have mercy on them, do not need any introduction. The great mystics of the Muslim Ummah, may Allah have mercy on them, molded their character in such a way that not only their own followers but also outsiders were influenced by their teachings. Such respected mystics whose gatherings were attended by people in large numbers, and who molded their character, among them the role of Chishti Sufi saints, may Allah have mercy on them, is commendable and worth emulating. This article primarily explains the discussions on moral conduct and behavior mentioned in the sayings of Hazrat Khwaja Usman Harooni, Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Ajmeri, Hazrat Khwaja Qutbuddin Bakhtiar Kaki, Hazrat Khwaja Baba Fariduddin Masood Ganjshakar, Hazrat Khwaja Nizamuddin Auliya Badayuni, and Hazrat Khwaja Nasiruddin Chiragh Dehlvi.
