Abstract

Meerza Adeeb was a famous dramatist and a short-story writer who is considered to be among the greatest writers of fiction in history. His plays and short stories won him six prizes and awards from the Pakistan Writers' Guild. In his autobiography "Matti Ka Diya" being part of its beautiful diction and linguistic characteristics it also seems a complete culture & civilization of its age. On account of these artistic merits, the autobiography of Meerza Adeeb will continue to play a significant role in the trend of autobiographies in Urdu. He has also endeavored to imply the same basic technique while writing his autobiography.
