Abstract

The article entitled: Comparative study of the translation of the meanings of Holy Qur’an by Abdul Salam Bhtvi and Fateh Muhammad Khan Jullandahry is comparison of both said translations. Both Translations of the meanings of Holy Qur’an have been made by great religious scholars, writers and experts of Arabic as well as Urdu Languages. They have done very remarkable jobs translating the meanings of Holy Qur’an in various styles, methods and types.

In fact, translation of the meanings of Holy Qur’an is impossible but translators try to convert the meanings of this Holy Book into other languages in their own way style and method. In this article comparison of both translations has been described under the following points: Comparison between sources, styles, types and method of both translations. Flexibility of Urdu words, nouns, pronouns and proverbs according to their context. Selection of appropriate Urdu words phrases, terms and syntaxes. . Method, type and style of both translators of the meanings of Holy Qur’an . Understanding of terms, proper nouns pronouns phrases and idioms described in Holy Qur’an of both translators.

Both said translators tried their best to convey the meanings fo Holy Qur’an into Urdu readers. They have done remarkable jobs translating the meanings this divine book. The article would be beneficial for the scholars of Islamic studies and rest of Qur’anic science.
