THE EMERGENCE OF URDU ATTRIBUTES AS AN INTERNATIONAL LANGUAGE:FROM THE GLOBAL EVOLUTIONARY PERSPECTIVE

Abstract

In this article, some peculiar properties associated with the Urdu language have been explored and discussed. The language sustainability depends upon some peculiar attributes and the absence of these characteristics will not support to any language to survive in this era of computer age. This study discusses the attributes of Urdu in the context of the impact of mass media communication and globalization. This study also predicts, that if any language is not supported by the mentioned peculiar attributes of the linguistics then it would be disappeared rapidly. From the evolutionary perspective, the main emphasis is given to the universal attributes of a language that cause to promote a language as an international language. The theme of the current research is deduced from the published literature regarding history and linguistic roots of Urdu. In conclusion, there are many good attributes of Urdu that have set the role of Urdu as a powerful tool of communication since long. In the context of mass media communication Urdu is progressing very fast and playing role to bridging the people in the country and abroad in comparison with English.
