Abstract

The research under review examines the feminine characters in Ismat Chughtai's “Tehrhi Lakeer”. 
This novel was written in that time of  twentieth century ,when women were not allowed to express 
themselves, but Esmat Chughtai's specialty is that while living in that period, she created a novel like 
“Tehrhi Lakeer” in which she covered all the issues of her time  and the feminine characters of the 
novel seem to openly rebel against social customs and social attitudes.
