Abstract

The subject article is a critical appreciation of the personality and work of one of the contemporary iconic literary
figures Jalil Aali. Being in sync with the requirements of our current digital hi-tech age, Jali Aali, who also happens
to be a widely known poet and critic of  his unique style, firmly believes and advocates that though a poet should be
well grounded in the classic poetic tradition, yet he/she must still have their own unique viewpoint, and as such
condemns those who are biased in favour of a particular literary trend, school or movement. While idealizing Iqbal
and Faiz, he deeply appreciates and kind of follows the trend set by such giants as Nadeem Qasimi, Sardar Jafery
and Akhtar Al-Eman who maintained their own independent style and genre despite the fact that were known for
being strong advocates of the Progressive Movement. As such, Jail Aali equates this kind of literary trend and
theory as a national service.
