Abstract

Prose poem originated in France. Charles Baudelaire is considered to be the founder of prose poem. Prose poem is a poetic
expression in which the poet presents his personality and society together in the form of a poem. Prose poem does not have a traditional
Rhythm, but its inner harmony rises poetically. Prose poem entered Urdu through modern poetic movements. Urdu prose poetry has many
poetic possibilities. Modern Urdu poets have chosen this genre for their creative expression and now the best prose poems are being written in
Urdu language.
