There are many genres in Urdu literature which have been transferred to us from other languages. Apart from the classical genres, if we look at other genres, they have migrated from world literature. Prose poetry is also a genre that became part of Urdu literature from France. Initially, it was considered an advanced form of independent poetry, but later dissenting voices had been raised and it had to go through many periods to convince. In the 1960's it was with modernity that it became popular among us as a genre. The names of Qamar Jameel, Anwar Son Roe, Ahmed Hamesh, Abdul Rashid, Ahmed Mubarak and Saleem-ur-Rehman etc. are important among the early poets. Over time, it has undergone thematic and technical changes. Apart from a collection of prose poems, there is also a wide collection of his every written critique. This article reviews the poems that have been created in the last 75 years, in which the possibilities of prose poetry were also highlighted.
