Abstract

Syeda Hina a novelist of Urdu literature whose novels are on social topics. Her novel "Lonely Sad Girl" became very popular. Saleema is an ordinary girl from a poor family who lives her life in poverty while keeping her Eastern traditions and values. However, the cruelty of society and the outdated traditions, the sanctity of relationships, and the fear of the unknown have made this character very insignificant. This study sheds light on all these aspects. The problems that women face in the Eastern poor society are all reflected in this one character and there has been an attempt to turn this character towards mental rebellion but the guard of values is so strong that it could not revolt and adopted Eastern values in the novel.
