Literary Magazines for Children in Punjabi language

Abstract

First traces of literature for children in Punjabi language are found in folk
literature. Then a few magazines of Punjabi language reserved some pages for
children literature. But these magazines were not published purely for children. Up till
now only five magazines of Punjabi language are published for children however their
publication has not been consistent. One magazine ‘Meeti’ continued for two years.
Three out of five were short lived and after one or two publications were ended
abruptly. Only one monthly Magazine 'Pukheroo' is being consistently published from
its start to up till now.
