Abstract

Events and issues leave their mark not only on the political and govermantlay system but also on the social life, art and literature and their effects are felt for centuries to come .The issues have been depicted and presented in literature. 21st century s issue and events have a massive impact on Urdu poetry. Urdu poets are narrating new mature sensibility that reflects a deeper understanding and a greater awareness of contemporary global issues. Urdu literature has a deep relation with society. The major expression found in Urdu poems is of anger, grief and distress over the devastation and destruction in Pakistan and all over the world especially in Islamic world. There is always a fear of 3rd world war which fills the mind with terror and a sense of insecurity that prevails around the globe. This is quite panic to think that 21st century starts from tragedy of 9/11 and it prompted a significant amount of multidimensional research and literary activities. Attack on world trade Centre was such a huge and overpowering event that it often overshadows and dominates the writers and poets .Besides this, a loud and bitter protest against the policy of using religion as a tool for exploiting the masses and for creating illusion in their minds. Realities have been vigorously launched in Urdu poetry. The contribution of 21st century ,s poets is tremendous in this regard that how they portrayed the present state of mind of modern man in their poems.
