Abstract

The term colonial literature is defined as  certain types of intellectual attitudes and tendencies like Statement of resisting foreign forces, acceptance of characters influenced by the new civilization in Eastern traditions etc. As far as children's Urdu poetry is concerned, the statement of national, cultural and historical elements is of priority for the mental training and development of children. In the colonial era subcontinent,s many poets have described the greatness of the past, the geographical importance of their land and the historical characters of the past. In This article the description and nature of historical elements in the children,s poetry of colonial era would be critically analysed and it would also be analysed that to which extent these poets have succeeded in their purpose.
