Real name: Muhammad Taqi.Takhalus: Mir. Date of birth: Feb,1725(Agra,India)       Date of Death 20 Sep, 1810(Lakhnwn,India). Alot about Meer's life has been figured out by his autobiographical writing called Zikr e Mir. Meer's literary reputation is anchored on the Ghazal in his Kulliyat e Mir. Mir live at the time when Urdu language and poetry was at a formative stage. He toke active role to promote the new era of Urdu.his complete works, Kulliyat, consist of six Diwans comprising a variety of poetic forms Ghazal,Masnavi, Qasida, Rubai, Hajve etc.There are lot of critical books on his life and poetry. his poetry is immortal.
