Abstract
Dr. Hanif Kafi was not only a researcher and critic but also a good poet.He wrote books on research,criticism and poetry.Hanif Kafi has the honor that he has not only written excellent sonnets from the mechanical and technical point of view, but also on this genre two research and critical books have also been created,which are a significant addition in promoting this genre in Urdu literature.Dr.Hanif Kafi has played an important role in the promotion and development of “Sonnet Nigari”,like Azimuddin,Azmatullah Khan,Akhtar Sheerani,N.M Rashid and other Urdu poets.He not only designed the sight himself, but also gave his opinion about sonnet’s art and pointed out its mechanical and technical flaws in Urdu.
