Abstract

The future of a language lies in the ways it preserves stores of learning. In order to enrich Urdu with treasures of science and other disciplines, translation of books from English and other languages into Urdu is indispensable. In this treatise, I have briefly commented upon some of the more important institutions which rendered commendable services in the translation of books on sciences into Urdu. Among these the services of Madrasa e Fakhriya Haiderabad Deccan, school book society Delhi college, Madrasa Tababat Aagrah, Scientific Society Ghazi Pur, Urdu Science Board Lahore, Dar-ul-Tarjma Usmania and Shuba-e- Tasneef-o-Taleef-o-Tarjma , Karachi University, are more conspicuous and more comprehensive.
