An Analysis of Pakhtunwali Values in the Ghazal Poetry of Ahmad Faraz

Abstract

Ahmad Faraz is a well known urdu poet of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.He was born in Kohat ,a district of KPK. After Faiz Ahmad faiz , Faraz poetry was famous for progressive and romantic thoughts.Along with the romantic and progressive elements Ahmad Faraz also reflected the values of Khyber pakhtunkha in his poetry, which are considered the values of the cultural life of the Pakhtoons. He has described this system of life of Pakhtoon wali in his poems which are not in writing but definitely found in the social life of Pakhtoons. He wrote many couplets about the characters of Pakhtoons and Pakhtunwali. This article discuss couplets of Ahmad Faraz about the culture of Pakhtun’s and characters of pakhtunwali .”
