Abstract

Imam al-Ghazali interprets repentance as a form of spiritual attraction. He describes repentance in the form of regretting sins and turning to Allah. Imam Ghazali emphasizes on patience and gratitude. According to him, patience is important in hot and rainy days and gratitude in times of hardship and supply. Statement of Fear and Hope Imam Ghazali interprets fear and hope as faith. Fear is associated with Allah's punishment and hope is associated with Allah's mercy. Imam Ghazali talks about the importance of poverty and asceticism. In the light of Islamic traditions, he interprets staying away from worldly wealth and financial affairs and considers poverty to be beneficial in the path of spirituality. These sayings of Imam Ghazali in his book "Ahiyya Uloom al-Din" show his spiritual understanding and practical life. In the way of bringing forth their interpretative understanding.
