Abstract

The first regular Urdu Safarnama "Ajaibat Farang" we find in the form of authorship and it was first published in 1847 in Delhi. Thus, the entire history of Urdu Safarnama consists of about 169 years, but the way Urdu Safarnama went through its evolutionary process rapidly in this short period is both commendable and praiseworthy. During this period, legendary colors were seen blooming in Urdu travelogues. Sometimes it is similar to the Urdu story, sometimes it is seen to collide with Urdu fiction. Sometimes he welcomed the novel and sometimes adopted a dramatic tone. Safarnama has also been close to the drama due to the characters of Urdu Safarnama living, talking, and being busy in sightseeing. Good dialogues, jokes, humor and every dramatic color has been a part of travelogues.
