Abstract

                Literature is a mirror in which one can see the social structure of the society and the formation of civilization and culture. The reflection of the time, environment and contemporary demands of the literature is seen in the creation of the writer. The deep consciousness and modern awareness of the artist makes the creative work universal. The day-to-day changing situation of the society, psychological conflicts and harshness in attitudes, have made man feel insecure. In such a case, bringing the psychological and mental conditions of different classes into fiction is a process by which the discomforts, grudges and ugliness within the society have been expressed. In the nineteenth century, attention has been paid to exploring the factors and phenomena of narcissism at the psychological level. Psychologists created the cruel and destructive attitudes of self-righteousness, ego, sexuality and sensuality hidden within man, which had entered into hman actions. Thanks to the term narcissism, writers sought to peer into the mysterious worlds of the human and, adorned with human feeling and emotions, the expression of the psychological tendencies of omnivorous narcissism has been highlighted as an indisputable fact in Urdu fiction. Where there is material for enjoyment, the positive and negative aspects of human behavior have also been presented. After the establishment of Pakistan, our society had to face the cultural and social problems. In such a situation, narcissism is a natural process. Anxiety and uncertainty in our soeicty has shaken the social unit. Mental anxiety, selfishness, existentialism, sensuality, mental restlessness have reached a certain level. All these things are precursors of narcissism. These psycho-narcissistic facors are well presented in Urdu fiction.
