Abstract
The basis of literature, language, and culture is an ongoing influence grounded in the origins and essence of social identity. Dialect and expression embody the core of literature, which plays a crucial role in shaping and examining cultural identity. Literature emerges from deep emotional resonance, influenced by the genuine alignment of feelings and attachments within a structured socio-cultural context. The short tale serves as an artistic medium that encapsulates socio-cultural experiences intertwined with emotion and sentiment, where language, expression, and civilization converge and evolve. The brief narrative clarifies the complexities of social awareness and explores the aspects of cultural consciousness. The dual role makes short story fiction an effective medium for illustrating socio-cultural realities. This study examines the representation of cultural identity in selected Pakistani Urdu short stories, providing insights into their narrative and thematic structures.
